Please find this product at http://absupply.net/searchfast.aspx?videoid=bzlZNQR0ZDc This video is to bring you a closer look at the Accurate 9901500. This is an aluminum extrusion, jam seal, or door stop. Could be a seal or a stop, with a sponge neoprene insert. It’s very appropriate for an applied stop in the sense that it is a very large piece of material. So what you’re seeing here is just the significant portion of it, and as per the line drawing that is above this video, or what you saw first most likely, is this item with its snap-on phalange piece as well. So the way this is gonna work, and while I won’t snap it on because I don’t want to damage the trim pulling it off, is that it snaps in just like that. If I were to push that down it’ll snap it in and give that a very clean finished appearance. This would be the exterior, that’s what you would see, and it’s tamper proof because those holes that you see for the fasteners can’t be accessed once the trim is snapped on. So let’s get our tape measure here and confirm these dimensions that they have. There is an image below this video showing everything important dimensionally about the item. I like the design a lot, and I’ll explain why in a moment, but first of all, the material is 3/4″ thick, and that’s gonna quite frankly be a greater projection than a typical stop on a typical frame, on a hollow metal frame which is 5/8″, or certainly a wood frame, so this would be very appropriate for use as a stop. So it’s 3/4″ thickness, then the face of the material that you’re going to see is not expressly given here, but you’re going to see the face of this trim, which is 1-5/8″ basically. The 1-3/8″ dimension that they’re giving you is from the back end to this portion of the extrusion right here, but your trim is going to stick out an extra 1/4″, and that’ll be what you see, now you can tell from the profile of the neoprene that it’s not symmetrical, you’ve got a much longer leg, and this is the leg that’s intended to go against the rabbit of the jam so that when your door closes, you’ve got a very thin knife-edge sort of seal between the actual rabbet of the frame and the face of the door, or the edge of the door. This is most commonly used as an applied door stop. You can have an application where you have a cased opening frame and need, based on the hardware requirements of the opening, to have an applied stop, and this item would certainly comply with all of that. This happens to be a 42″ piece. Available in the website in several different lengths. If you have need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next longest piece or pieces and indicating in the comment field what length you’d like us to cut the material back to. The reasoning is if you had to take this 42″ piece, this header, and cut it down to say 38″, you’d eliminate that screw hole there and then you’re stuck with drilling another one, not that it so much matters in terms of drilling an additional hole, but the fact of the matter is, this material’s gonna be cut to length anyway. If you order it 42″, it’ll come out at 42″ even though the neoprene will always come out a little bit long for you to trim that in the field, but the point is if you’ve got 20 doors to do, might as well just order them pre-cut to the lengths you need and be done with it, or be so close to that net finish that you need to come up with so that you don’t have to redrill a hole. You’re probably going to be mitering this material in the field, so you’re gonna want to very possibly have it long, but keep in mind, you’re gonna want to be within a couple of inches of your finished length so that you’re not stuck redrilling these holes, or there you go, you’ll redrill some holes. Speaking of holes, screws are included. This header piece happens to have 4 screws supplied with it, there are 4 holes. Looks to be about a 10 panhead sheet metal screw that you’re gonna get. Available only in the mill aluminum finish, this is what the aluminum looks like when it comes from the mill, that’s why they call it mill aluminum.
