Check out video on making the best wood fill I know of. Gather fine sawdust from your shop or recent woodworking project and store it in a clean container until ready to mix up a batch of wood fill. Mix with expoxy (either 5 minute or West System expoxy) on the wood surface that needs to be filled and adjust the consistency as needed by adding more sawdust to thicken, or add more epoxy to thin. Let it dry for 30 minutes or so before sanding. This mixture can also be shaped much better than the wood fill you buy.
TIP : To fix an imperfection in wood like walnut, cherry or mahogany, mix the sawdust with some charcoal shavings from artist charcoal that you rub off using sandpaper. Add the charcoal to the sawdust to create a natural dark finish. (Check out how to do this at the 2 minute 53 sec. point of the video). I use the natural sawdust mixture when working with maple.
Good luck and hope this tip helps.

OK. If you have got a door that is not latching or it seems to latch but when you try to lock it and when you push on it it just pops open. First thing you want to check for is to make sure that it’s lining up properly with the grooves here and this one it may be time for a new latch here. But anyway it appears to be latching but it appears that this piece is in too far. So what I am going to do is squeeze that over with a pair of channel locks. Watching for the trim here so that we don’t damage the trim. What I am going to do is just position the channel locks depending on which way gives us a better squeeze. I believe it is going to be this way. Yeah I am just going to squeeze that part in. Pull it out and now we will test our lock. Everything latches like it should and it can’t be pushed open. We are good to go there.
