Crabtree is an operating division of Powertech and subsidiary of the JSE Listed Altron Group.
Crabtree SA first opened its doors in 1947, as a subsidiary of a UK parent company. From those early days, the Crabtree credo is to be a company that meets the high demands of its customers through the provision of a technically advanced product, unrivalled service and superior support and back-up infrastructure.
In 1989, Crabtree became a truly South African company when it was sold to Powertech, who already owned Litemaster. The two companies were amalgamated with the Crabtree name retained as the primary brand.
Over the many years of its existence Crabtree has grown steadily to become the leading supplier and manufacturer of innovative branded products for the developers, maintainers and users of low voltage electrical infrastructure in Southern Africa.
With the widest range of sockets and switches (primarily found in domestic, commercial and industrial buildings), a fit for purpose range of circuit breakers and distribution boards, conduit, trunking and PVC fittings, complemented with a varied range of domestic products (adaptors, multi-plugs and extension cords), Crabtree’s mission is to create a convenient, reliable and safe electrical environment inside the building.
Manufacture and assembly of these quality products takes place at the primary facilities in Wadeville, while ably supported with an assembly plant in Lesotho. Several SMME enterprise development suppliers in the Gauteng facility continue to add value to the Crabtree product range.
Distribution, sales and customer service centres are located in Wadeville, Bloemfontein, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth, George, Cape Town and Namibia. With these facilities Crabtree has the ability to distribute to Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
The Crabtree manufacturing and assembly facilities have all been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification and all products produced and marketed by Crabtree either carry the SABS mark or are approved for sale by the South African Bureau of Standards, ensuring that all products that bear the Crabtree name are dedicated to quality, safety and reliability.
The company’s technical abilities is recognised with one of the most advanced and well maintained tool rooms in the country. Crabtree has won several technological awards for its ever-expanding range of modern products that continue to add value and quality to Southern African homes and businesses.
Crabtree products are subconsciously touched and used by people every day, actually allowing them to make use of electricity in a safe and reliable way while at work and play because Crabtree is Behind Living. Behind Life.
This is a supplemental video to repairing & maintaining the TOMY Hit & Missile Game. In the video I demonstrate a method I use to repair the plastic film strip inside the game. Over time the square holes along the edge of the strips may develop tears which can cause them to slip on the teeth of the gears or stop completely. If not fixed, the tears can get larger making the game unplayable.
