How to Install a BedRug Molded Carpet Truck Bed Liner
Hello, this is Shawn here with RealTruck, and today we’re installing a BedRug carpeted truck bed liner onto a Toyota Tundra.
Here’s everything that comes with the kit, including the BedRug as well as the Velcro stripping. First, before starting, make sure that you have completely cleaned out your truck bed. Then you can go ahead and dry fit the bed liner into your truck bed, and make sure you put the side padding up first.
Once you get the side panels up, go ahead and add the floor piece, making sure to line up as best as possible. As soon as you have the side and the bottom pieces lined up, go ahead and start zipping the two together. When the two pieces are zipped together completely, you can flip the mat over and start adding two strips of 1″ x 63.5″ Velcro stripping. And at this time, please do not remove the 3M tape backing. It’s now time to add the 1″ x 2″ Velcro strips as shown.
Next, you’ll want to go ahead and flip the bed liner back over and add the included Velcro onto the back of the truck bed mat. Right below the longer Velcro strip that you just put on, you’ll want to add the shorter 1″ x 2″ pieces as shown. Go ahead and clean the area where you plan to adhere the Velcro and start pulling off the tape backing. Once the protective tape has been removed on the front portion of the truck bed, you can start to gently adhere the bed liner to the front of the bed. Make sure to press firmly in order to get a nice fit.
Now on to the truck bed floor. First thing you want to do is to clean the applicable area with a rag. Pull off the tape backing and adhere the mat to the bed floor. You are now ready for the sidewalls. There should be a Velcro strip with indents along the way. Add the 1″ x 2″ pieces to the indents as shown. Then by using your eye, add the 1″ x 2″ pieces to the long bottom strip, aligning them with the top.
Once that is complete, you can go ahead and start cleaning up the side of the truck bed. Pull off the protective tape backing and start to adhere to the side of the truck bed. In some cases, you may need to add an extra strip of Velcro for a perfect fit. Don’t be alarmed. You should have more than enough strips to do this.
Next add strips to the rear of the tailgate mat and adhere it to the truck bed. Once you have one side complete, you can go ahead and repeat the exact same process on the other side. Now that the sidewalls are finished, you can go ahead and add the long strip to the liner closest to the end of the tailgate as shown. Cut off any excess and start pulling off the tape backing. Then go ahead and flip the mat over and adhere it to the tailgate.
The BedRug is now installed and will give you the protection you need to keep your knees and truck bed free from damage.
