My Name’s Joseph Proto and I’m with CableOrganizer.com and today we’re going to be talking about the Electriduct Rubber Duct Cable Protectors.
First off the definition of a cable protector is that it protects your cables from getting damaged and it also prevents people from getting hurt while tripping over these cables, hoses, or wires that might be laying on the ground.
In order to get you to the right cord cover there are two questions that need to be answered. The first is what are you protecting your cables or hoses from? Typical responses would be foot traffic, small carts, cars, and trucks.
Once we determine that then we’ll know how strong the cord cover will need to be to fit your application. The second question is what are you protecting? Are you protecting
telephone wire, Cat5 cable, power cords, or hoses? Then, how many of each?
If you had one power cord and one Cat5 cable that would fit in a channel roughly about this size here. If you had a full network of 30 Cat5 cables it would definitely not fit in this channel, you’d had to get into something much bigger.
What’s great about the Rubber Duct Cord Covers is that they are made out of rubber. When people think of rubber they think of rubber bands or something very flimsy and bouncy, like plastic.
This is a plastic cord cover and it is very flimsy. Sometimes they don’t lay flat and over time they deteriorate. What’s great about the Rubber Ducts is that they’re made out of rubber, are very durable, and you can actually drive over these and they will protect your cables and your hoses.
Another benefit is that there are seven different sizes to choose from. Like I said, depending on what you’re protecting will determine what size channel you need for your application. If you need something that’s small for a wire if you need to lay down a fault line or if you’re protecting a hose at the end of your driveway.
Another great benefit of the Rubber Ducts is that the underside is grooved. This allows for better traction when people step on it and their foot hits it, it doesn’t slide out like plastic cord covers.
