2007 – 2013 GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Leaking, FIX!, my truck has been leaking for several months now, I have researched all over the internet and forums, everything I came across pointed the leak at the 3rd brake light or the on star antenna, I replaced the 3rd light 3 weeks ago thinking this would fix the issue, but after a heavy rain, I went out to check the truck and noticed it was still leaking, so I then caulked the 3rd light in place with black RTV hoping this would be the fix but it was not.
The next thing was to check the on star antenna and the only way to do this is to remove the headliner, the day after a heavy rain, I removed the headliner, this was not an easy task, to see if I could locate the leak, everything enclosed under the headliner was dry so I knew right then it had to be coming from somewhere else, I started pulling on the outer weather stripping over the rear door and that’s when I notices the plastic keeper and the hole in the cab, I removed the keeper and put a small bead of RTV around the hole then re-installed the weather stripping and keeper, since then, we have had a lot of rain an no leak.
I apologize for the last part of the video being so dark, we had bad storms and dark clouds so it was dark out.
I hope this video helps other fix the leak on their trucks.
Thanks for watching.
