Please find this product at http://absupply.net/searchfast.aspx?videoid=WdaabQLABFs This video is to bring you a closer look at the National Guard C627DKB. This is a nylon door sweep with an integrated drip cap, as you can see. So the C627 stands for the fact that this is indeed that aluminum extrusion profile that you can see there. Features a bristle insert. Preferred by a lot of people because bristle is both effective, seals off the bottom of the door very well, and does so very commonly without providing a significant obstacle to proper door operation, meaning getting the door closed and latched. DKB stands for dark bronze, that’s the anodized finish on the aluminum. The drip cap certainly tells me it is an exterior application where you would have this. The drip cap is known to be extremely effective at helping drive water away from the bottom area of the door. Just pushing it off that small dimension, which is about 5/8″ we’ll go over that in a moment, is believe it or not extremely effective at doing that. Drip caps are always a good idea to have when dealing with an exterior application. If this is an in-swinging door, you’re going to need to cope the bottom of that unit around the stop of your frame. That holder, the bristle that’s in there, is crimped on the one end to keep it from sliding, but you’ll want to take and pull this material out, slide this bar out like that, and you’ll want to snip that differently without cutting through anything at one time. You want to pull this out, cope your aluminum around your stop, cut your bristle to length, because that’s a steel bar there, then slide it back in. Available in aluminum finish as well, very typical. Below this video is an image showing everything important dimensionally about the item, let’s go over that now. Now you can see from that image that what you’re dealing with is a couple of dimensions that are there. You have 1-3/8″ overall height on the extrusion, then you’ve got 1/2″ dimension from the underside of the drip cap to the bottom of the bristle. The projection is not given in that drawing, nut we can show it now. Looks like it’s about 1/2″. Very effective way to help drive that away. If you have need for a custom length, because this is available in the website in several different lengths, but if you have need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next longest piece or pieces and indicating in the comment field what length you’d like us to cut the material back to. The reasoning is if you had to take this 36″ piece and cut it down to say 34″, you’d eliminate that slotted hole and then the next one’s all the way over here. Speaking of that hole, screws are included in a complimentary finish. They look to be about a 6 x 1″. It’s nice to have that slotted hole there from the factory because it will allow a very slight but very necessary amount of vertical adjustment on the bottom of the door so that you can make sure that this is making the proper seal against the sill. Not too much, causing binding, not enough making it ineffective, or when you’re pre-drilling your holes, whether it’s wood or steel or aluminum or fiberglass, the drill bit has the tendency to walk a little bit if you’ve not used a center punch, and that slotted hole helps compensate for that as well. So if you order a custom length we’ll not only locate the slotted hole at the proper distance from the edge but the proper center to center as well.
