☢ design review ☢
* I tried to make it safe and functional. to get to the second story, one must walk up one of two staircases, both of which are guarded by guard post desks. the central tower features two heavy-duty, invulnerable turrets that defend the front entrance as well as an enemy spawn location located on the opposite end of the entrance. there are guard mats for two settler guards to walk back and forth between all sides to overlook the whole town (second guard must’ve been glitched for he was not at his post).
* the residential district’s restaurant/pub has the only public toilet in the settlement for those whom do not have plumbing, somewhat replacing the idea of a singular outhouse. it was a last-minute roleplay decision.
* the idea of the names of the stores seems a little tacky, but was meant to not only give the vendors character, but also to just establish store signage design.
* stone benches cannot be sat upon by NPCs, so you’ll never see anyone hanging out in the marketplace bldg unless sleeping in the community living area, but I thought to evoke the garden feeling of the greenhouse nearby.
*this is a fully functional settlement which can house, feed, and defend 24 people. there are 24 beds [some of which double beds which I have not observed two people sleeping in at once but count toward 2 people], USO’s “GMO” mutfruit (6/ea), and “Chris’ Invulnerable Turret” (80def/ea). all stores are tier 3.
☢ mods review ☢
[clean & smooth]:
greentop nursery moves the greenhouse location as well as removes the destroyed prewar house. tbh I believe this has caused pathing issues- my settlers are walking into doorways and glitching through walls/floors on places where the greenhouse/prewar house used to be (marketplace & residential bldg). this could merely be because of multiple stories, but have made multistory settlements in the past with no prior issues.
I have also had a problem with settlers tending to invisible food plants where the greenhouse used to be. unfortunately, I had already established the groundwork for this beautiful settlement before realizing how drastic the clean & smooth mod was.
I normally love C&S mods, but this building alteration seemed to have taken its toll on the PS4′s limited mod ability and just made my settlers constantly disappear and find weird ways to get to places.
this was an invaluable asset for using the mod OCDecorator. FreeMaker allows you to craft most things, and I utilized it to create JUNK, which we all know is what we use to decorate our homes.
in the past I have always kept my settlements without placing decor due to them flying around upon fast travel, but also felt that there was a void which could only have been filled with decor and personal effects, such as vases with flowers or fancy hairbrushes, alcohol, and cigarettes to name a few. you can truly notice this mod’s value at places such as the marketplace, where merchandise is laid out for all to see.
I wanna thank everyone for giving the time of day to watch this settlement tour.
if you give this video a ‘thumbs up’ i will record a 3rd person view tour of this town…
I was debating recording it in 3rd person to begin with, but wanted to immerse the viewer just a bit.
have a wonderful time making your adult dollhouses! ;P
